After dedicating over 30 years to office work, Jane Bishop has embarked on a heartwarming new venture—swapping paperwork for purrs with the launch of The Cat Butler Donington. Serving the feline residents of Coningsby, Boston, Bourne, Spalding, Sleaford, and surrounding Lincolnshire areas, Jane is bringing premium cat care services to cat owners who want their beloved pets to stay comfortable at home while they’re away.

A Purrfect Career Change

Jane’s journey to becoming a Cat Butler is one filled with a love for animals and a desire for a more fulfilling career. Originally from Poole, Dorset, she and her husband, Paul, relocated to Donington in 2003. While she continued her office-based work, a growing passion for animal care inspired her to seek something more rewarding.

“I’ve always loved animals, and after seeing The Cat Butler on Facebook for months, I could see the joy and enthusiasm in the other Butlers' faces. I thought, ‘That’s definitely for me too!’” Jane shares. “Being able to visit and look after cats in their own homes every day is an honour. I know from personal experience that home is the best place for our cats when we’re away.”

Why The Cat Butler

Jane was drawn to The Cat Butler after seeing its strong community of like-minded cat lovers. “To be able to visit and look after other cats in their own homes on a daily basis would be an honour indeed. I know myself when you go away and leave your cats at home that you have total peace of mind knowing there is someone trustworthy and reliable looking after them.”

“We left our cats once in a cattery, and they didn’t settle the entire time we were away. So home is definitely the best place for our cats—and no doubt for many others.”

A Home Filled with Feline Love

Jane and Paul have shared their home with cats for over 15 years, experiencing firsthand the joy they bring. Their current feline family includes three rescue cats—Tilly, Lola, and Maisy—each with their own unique personality.

“Tilly is the most loving and affectionate cat I’ve ever met. If there’s food down, it’s gone in seconds! Lola and Maisy, mother and daughter, are inseparable. Lola will steal your seat the moment you stand up, while Maisy, the quietest of the three, springs into action at the sight of a toy or laser pen.”

A New Chapter with The Cat Butler

Jane officially launched The Cat Butler Donington on 3rd March 2025 and is thrilled about what lies ahead. “I’m so excited to be part of something truly fulfilling. Providing first-class care to local cats will be a privilege, and I can’t wait to meet all the different feline personalities along the way!” she says.
