Paula and her husband joined The Cat Butler team in 2021. They moved to the UK from South Africa in 2020 and soon found themselves in the midst of a national lockdown. The extra time at home gave them time to consider what they wanted to do next, and it didn’t take them long to agree that they wanted something that centred around animals. During their research, they came across The Cat Butler, and the rest is history - life today is just purr-fect!

We were interested in a business to run from home and we liked the idea of a pet sitting business as we love cats and were looking for this type of franchise. We came across The Cat Butler website and were incredibly impressed with the professional and sophisticated package that the Cat Butler franchise offers. I contacted Sandra, and she was very approachable and helpful from the start, and within a few days, we were discussing the franchise process with the team. 

A Typical Day as a Cat Butler Franchisee

My day begins with a quiet five minutes in bed, mentally preparing for my day with a cup of tea. I check into my Cat Butler phone app and acknowledge all of my cat care appointments for the day. I check for messages on the office phone and email and any deal with any enquiries via the website. We're counting down the days until the Festive season, so our inbox is starting to fill up with lots of requests for our Cat Butler Cat Sitting services

Then off we go to visit our gorgeous clients of the furry kind - my favourite part of the day! There may be one, two, three or more furry friends to feed, pamper, tidy after and most of all, play with. I send a few photos or videos to their caregivers wherever they are, reassuring them that their feline friends are happy and well at home. 

After my kitty rounds, I pop around to meet a couple of new customers and make friends with their kitties. I make sure I am happy with the cat care routine, including feeding and grooming and administering medication, if required. I also run through anything else the client might need me to do, such as watering the plants. I also make sure that I'm happy with the information the client has updated on their online portal. Each client has access to their own online pet portal, where they update all the instructions that I'll need to do the visits to their cat/s and their home - they can also book services online via their portal. After my client visits, I head home to schedule any new booking requests and respond to any new client enquiries. 

The day is varied and fun, leaving time in the day to take care of my family's needs, too what's not to love about sharing kitty cuddles all day!
