Introduction

When Muna Shah, our professional Cat Butler and franchise owner of The Cat Butler Welwyn & Hatfield, first met Luna - a beautiful Blue British Shorthair - she knew this would be a special challenge. Luna was one of the most frightened and timid cats Muna had ever met, a shy girl who preferred to stay hidden and rarely showed herself to anyone outside her family.

Earning the Trust of a Very Nervous Cat

For many cats, new faces and unfamiliar scents can feel overwhelming, and Luna’s instinct was always to retreat. But Muna understood that with patience, consistency, and compassion, even the most nervous cat can learn to feel safe and secure.

Building Trust, One Visit at a Time

During her regular visits, Muna worked entirely on Luna’s terms, using calm, gentle movements, a soft voice, and giving her the space she needed to build confidence at her own pace. Slowly but surely, that trust began to grow.

What started as fleeting glances from under the bed soon became curious looks from the stairs. Eventually, Luna felt comfortable enough to spend relaxed time out in the open. Over time, she transformed from a frightened, hidden cat into a confident companion happy to be seen and cared for.

Gaining confidence and beginning to explore

“Luna is the most frightened and timid cat I have ever met and does not show herself to anyone outside her family. During my visits I slowly developed trust with her on her own terms, which was remarkable - and her mum was very surprised and delighted,” said Muna.

A Remarkable Transformation

By the end of Muna’s visits, Luna had blossomed into a far more confident and content cat, much to her owner’s amazement and delight.

Relaxed, content, and happy in her cosy spot

Luna’s story is a heartwarming reminder of what truly defines The Cat Butler experience: professionalism grounded in empathy, respect, and genuine love for cats. Every visit is about more than just care - it’s about connection. And for Luna, that connection made all the difference.
