The British Franchise Association (BFA)

Founded in 1977, the British Franchise Association (BFA) is a self-regulating governing body, formed to accredit and promote franchise systems that meet strict ethical and business criteria. 

The BFA British Franchise Awards 2023

Established in 1989 and the highest honours available to brands in the sector, the awards recognise the UK’s most exceptional franchisors in a range of categories for their business growth and development, service excellence and commitment to ethical franchising practice. The awards are sponsored by HSBC Bank.

The Cat Butler - "Emerging Franchisor" Finalist

Fighting for their position amongst hundreds of other entrants, The Cat Butler are finalists in the “Emerging Franchisor” category. The Cat Butler was founded in St Albans, Hertfordshire in 2015 by Sandra James and employs 14 staff in the local area. Sandra franchised the business in 2021 and now has 10 franchise locations across the UK.

Commenting on the announcement, founder Sandra James said: “We are thrilled with the news and it is testament to our hard work and commitment we put into running our franchise network. Since signing our first official franchise at the end of 2021 our network has seen steady growth and we’re now in a position, with a tried and tested business model, to expand further. From the outset, we've tried hard to follow the BFA’s guidelines for running an ethical franchise and feel that this approach has helped our franchisees.”

The Winners Event

Finalists will present to a judging panel of industry experts on 30th August 2023 with winners announced at a black-tie dinner on 9th November 2023 at the Vox Conference Centre, Birmingham.
