Introduction

Alexandra (Ally) Fernandes has launched The Cat Butler South Gloucestershire, bringing premium home cat sitting services to Yate, Chipping Sodbury, Bradley Stoke, Thornbury and surrounding areas.

After more than 20 years travelling the world in international retail development, Ally has swapped airport lounges and hotel rooms for a business much closer to home, caring for cats in the community where she grew up.

From International Travel to Local Business Ownership

For over two decades, Ally worked as an International Senior Business Development Manager, helping well-known retail brands grow through franchise partnerships around the world.

Her career took her across Europe, South Africa, Russia and the Middle East, often travelling twice a month and spending much of her time away from home.

While she loved meeting people and helping businesses succeed, the opportunity to move back to the Cotswolds gave her the chance to rethink what she wanted from the next stage of her career.

Returning to the town where she grew up felt like the perfect moment to create a life with more balance, more flexibility and more connection to her local community.

A Long-Held Dream Comes to Life

For years, Ally had imagined running a business that combined her professional skills with something she genuinely loved.

That something was cats.

"I had a dream: a locally based business that combined my professional skills, my personality and something I genuinely adore - cats," she explains.

When The Cat Butler appeared on her social media feed, the timing felt perfect. What started as a simple enquiry quickly turned into an opportunity to bring the brand to her local area and build a business of her own.

Despite her lifelong love of cats, Ally's previous travel-heavy career meant she never felt it would be fair to have a cat of her own.

Growing up, however, she shared her home with two memorable family cats, Smokey and Bumble, whose very different personalities left a lasting impression.

Now that she has returned to Gloucestershire and settled into a more balanced lifestyle, that is about to change.

Ally is preparing to welcome a two-year-old rescue cat into her home, giving the abandoned feline a fresh start and a forever family.

For Ally, the most rewarding part of this new venture is the opportunity to support fellow cat owners and become a trusted presence in the local community.
