Alex Bradley, who runs The Cat Butler South West Nottingham, recently had his first call-out as a Scan Angel (a volunteer who scans lost or stray cats for microchips), and it turned into a truly heart-warming story.
On 9th September, Alex was contacted by Denise McGarvey, Church and Centre Leader at The Salvation Army in The Meadows. Denise had welcomed a stray cat into her home and asked Alex to check whether she had a microchip.
The little cat – later named Kitsy – first appeared helping herself to food. As the days passed, she grew braver, venturing indoors and eventually curling up comfortably on the sofa.
Before long, Denise, a resident at the home, noticed that Kitsy was expecting kittens. In a heart-warming twist, Kitsy gave birth safely indoors, with Denise and her friend Jean close by to watch over her.
A week later, Alex visited to scan Kitsy for a microchip. None was found – but by then, Denise and Jean had already decided she had found her forever home with them. They’ll be keeping Kitsy and at least one kitten, while ensuring the others are placed with friends and family in loving homes once they’re old enough.
We’re so proud of Alex for playing a part in this heart-warming rescue story and delighted that Kitsy and her kittens now have such a bright future. It’s a lovely example of the difference our franchisees can make in their communities. Based in South West Nottingham, Alex provides professional, reliable, and loving cat care across the local area. If you’d like to find out more about his services – or book trusted care for your own cat – the South West Nottingham team are here to help.
