From Client to Cat Butler: A Purrfect Change!

At The Cat Butler, we take pride in the exceptional care we provide to our feline clients and their human families. One of our satisfied clients in Pagham, Jane Merican, was so impressed with the service that she decided to join our team!

Jane, who previously worked in automotive recruitment in the West Midlands, found herself looking for meaningful work after moving to the south coast. She explains, "I experienced a very high standard of service, and my cat Luna was well looked after – she certainly had no complaints!" Inspired by this experience, Jane decided to become a Cat Butler herself. "I love tending to all my kitty clients; each cat is different, and I enjoy getting to know them as individuals."

Though we specialise in caring for cats, we occasionally extend our services to other small animals. Jane's first assignment included caring for a pair of pet rats alongside her feline charges, and she embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, ensuring they received all the attention they needed.

Franchisee Julie Dunn adds, “You don’t have to be called Jane to work here, but it helps! We now have two fabulous Cat Butlers named Jane. Having first been a customer, Jane Merican brings a unique perspective to our team, knowing what it's like from both sides of the Butler-client relationship. She’s a real asset to the business.”

Jane is now caring for the cats (and occasional rats!) in Pagham, Aldwick, Bognor Regis, and Chichester, and often lends a hand to her fellow Cat Butlers in Arundel, Littlehampton, and the surrounding villages.

The Cat Butler was set up by Sandra James in recognition of the fact that a stay in a cattery can be unsettling for many cats and also their owners.
