Looking for a way to get fitter and help cats in need at the same time? Why not take part in Miles for Moggies?
Clare and I were feeling rather unfit as the autumn evenings were drawing in, so were looking for a bit of inspiration to get fitter before winter truly sets in. Browsing through the Cats Protection website, we came across an ideal solution - Miles for Moggies - walking and helping cats at the same time. Purr-fect!
We signed up immediately, deciding on the 10K distance to challenge ourselves. We chose one of our favourite Derbyshire walking spots - the Nutbrook trail and October 27th seemed the ideal day being National Black Cat Day!
Being a Cat Butler is a physical job that requires a good level of fitness so in the lead-up to the big day, we combined delivering our business flyers to local residents as we prepared for the walk ahead.
The walk itself was great fun - luckily we chose a beautiful day - and we completed the 10K in less than 2 hours! We felt great accomplishing our goal and earned an exclusive Miles for Moggies medal and certificate - all while knowing we were helping to give an unwanted moggy a second chance at life.
