What Did Life Look Like Before You Joined The Cat Butler?
"Before joining The Cat Butler, I had an extensive 30-year career in the casino industry that took me around the world on luxury cruise ships for 10 of those years, ultimately landing in London as an Operations Manager across five busy, high-end venues. I gained rich experiences working in various international settings and meeting people from all walks of life. The dynamic nature of the casino business provided constant excitement and professional growth.
"However, everything changed during the lockdown period. The casino industry faced unprecedented challenges as operations came to a standstill. This difficult time prompted deep reflection about my career path and what truly mattered to me. The isolation and uncertainty of the lockdown made me realise I wanted to make a more meaningful impact in my community.
"I’ve spent the last 30 years working in the casino industry, travelling to incredible places like Hawaii, Easter Island, Australia, New Zealand, Bora Bora, and Tahiti. But after settling into an operations manager role in London for 12 years, lockdown in 2020 gave me time to reassess what truly made me happy – and the answer, cats."
"Following this period of change, I began supporting local cat rescues and charities, finding great fulfilment in fostering unwanted stray cats and kittens. I dedicated myself to helping these vulnerable animals adjust and prepare for their "furever" homes. Working with these cats and seeing them flourish under my care made me realise I could transform my passion for helping others and my love for cats into a meaningful profession.
"I’ve always been cat-obsessed, helping out friends and neighbours, and fostering for local rescues over the last couple of years. Seeing firsthand how much vulnerable cats need love and care gave me a real sense of purpose. The decision to work with cats full-time was a no-brainer."
"These experiences and my desire to give back ultimately led me to discover The Cat Butler, where I can channel my newfound purpose into caring for beloved pet cats and supporting their owners."

Why Cat Sitting?
"I chose cat sitting because it perfectly combines my passion for helping others with my deep love for cats. I've always owned cats from a young age, and through my fostering experience, I discovered the immense satisfaction of helping cats adjust, feel secure, and thrive in new environments. I saw firsthand how critical it is for cats to receive caring, consistent attention in their own familiar space.
"My long career in the casino industry taught me the importance of professionalism, reliability, and providing exceptional service. Now, I'm applying these same principles to cat sitting, but in a way that feels more meaningful and aligned with my desire to give back to the community.
"Cats give us unconditional love and can be part of the family for 20 years or more. They deserve top-tier care in their own homes while their humans are away, be it for business or holidays, and I can’t wait to provide that."
What Was it About The Cat Butler that Appealed to You?
"The Cat Butler appealed to me because of their exceptional professionalism and clear dedication to providing the highest standard of care for cats. During my long career in the casino industry where attention to detail and service excellence were paramount, I recognised these same values in The Cat Butler's approach.
"Their commitment to treating each cat as an individual and focusing exclusively on feline care particularly resonated with my own experience fostering rescue cats. I had learned firsthand how unique each cat's personality and needs can be, and I appreciated that The Cat Butler shares this understanding.
"The company's structured approach, comprehensive training programme, and robust support system demonstrated that they take their responsibilities seriously. This aligned perfectly with my own professional standards and desire to provide the very best service possible. After my years in the corporate world and my time helping rescue cats find their forever homes, I knew I wanted to be part of an organisation that combines professional excellence with genuine care for animals.
"Moreover, The Cat Butler's values of trust, reliability, and building lasting relationships with both cats and their owners matched my own vision of how pet care services should be delivered. It felt like the perfect way to turn my passion for cats into a professional role while maintaining the high standards I've always upheld throughout my career.
"I’m excited to meet lots of amazing cats, grow my business, collaborate with the local cat rescue community, and eventually bring other cat-obsessed Butlers on board! With St Gertrude watching over my feline-filled future, I have a FUR-ling it’s going to be the cat’s whiskers!"

Tell Us About Your Feline Family
"I've always owned rescue cats, and my current feline family consists of four adopted rescue cats, each with their own special story.
"There’s Blue (11), a once-terrified cat who would hide away at the rescue centre and lived under the bath for the first few months, who now thrives on cuddles. Lola (8), a former stray and my first foster cat, who I helped guide through health struggles to become a happy and healthy house cat. Then there’s Toby (1), a cheeky, chatty kitten, who was rescued at just eight weeks old. Finally, Mika (2), the newest addition to the family, was found abandoned, unchipped, and at risk of becoming pregnant, but now thriving in her ‘furever’ home.”
"Each of them has their own quirks and needs, and my experience in caring for them has deepened my understanding of what cats require to feel safe, secure, and happy."
What Does the Future Hold?
"After transitioning from a 30-year casino career and discovering my true passion through fostering rescue cats, I'm excited to build something special with The Cat Butler. My experience with my own rescue cats - Blue, Lola, Toby, and Mika - and others over the years has given me deep insight into the unique needs of different felines. Combined with my professional background in service excellence, I look forward to providing outstanding care to cats in our community and building a team of like-minded, caring, professional cat sitters who share my dedication to treating each cat as an individual."
