A Career Change With Heart (and Whiskers)

After over 20 years in retail banking, working her way up to become a Bank Manager, Alex knew it was time for a change. Following a company restructure and voluntary redundancy, she took a leap of faith – swapping the corporate world for something a lot more feline.

Why The Cat Butler?

“I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do next, but I knew I wanted something that would make me happy and involve animals,” Alex explained. “Then I found The Cat Butler. Sandra [our founder] called me almost immediately after I filled in the enquiry form, and the more we talked, the more it just felt right.”

Alex was drawn to the professionalism, support and warmth that make The Cat Butler so special, and especially to the opportunity to work with cats in their own homes – something inspired by a very personal experience with her own cat, Daisy.

The Inspiration Behind The Business

“When I went away on holiday last year, I struggled to find someone to look after Daisy. When I got back, she was stressed and unhappy – it was upsetting. I knew there had to be a better way.”

Now, Alex is creating that better way for other cat owners in her local area, offering a calm, caring, and consistent cat sitting service that provides complete peace of mind.

Meet Daisy – The Queen of the House

Alex lives in Ringwood with Daisy – a 17-year-old tabby and white moggy with bags of character (and opinions). Daisy was gifted to her by a dear friend who has since passed away, making her presence all the more cherished.

“She bosses me about a lot – mostly to demand food or chin scratches. But I absolutely adore her.”

Community Spirit and a Love For All Creatures

Outside of caring for cats, Alex supports her community by walking dogs for The Cinnamon Trust and volunteering with a local wildlife rescue – a reflection of her deep love for animals of all kinds. But it’s cats that truly hold a special place in her heart.

Looking Ahead – Building a Pawsome Local Service

“I’m so excited to get started. I want to build my reputation as a first-class cat sitter, giving my clients’ precious furballs the best care possible. That way, owners can relax knowing their cats are in safe, loving hands while they’re away.”
