Cat owners in Leighton Buzzard and Milton Keynes will be able to hire their very own Cat Butler to look after their feline friends while they are away travelling or simply to pop in every day while they are at work.
Lara Bradford (48) who launches her new The Cat Butler business on 23rd October, will be caring for feline customers in Leighton Buzzard and Milton Keynes.
Following a 20 year career as a television editor and then working from home, Lara has decided to run her own cat sitting business, visiting cats in their own homes while their owners are away. Lara has recently qualified as pet first aid trained and can give cats medication including diabetes injections.
I worked as a freelance television editor for 20 years, which was a very exciting and rewarding career – until I had children! Juggling the demands of commuting to London, unpredictable hours and children with different needs wasn’t working, so I took on several work-from-home customer service jobs. Although these were enjoyable and much less stressful, I knew that I wanted something more fulfilling and rewarding.
I have always loved cats, they are without question my favourite animal and (apart from a brief spell when we lived on a busy road in London,) I have always had cats in my life – rescues, kittens and even a stray that just decided he wanted to live with us!
When my last freelance contract came to an end, I felt I was ready for the challenge of running my own business, and luckily came across an advert for The Cat Butler franchise.
I immediately knew this was something I would love to do that would combine my love of cats with my experience of delivering first-class customer service – for both feline and human clients!
From the moment I saw the first advert on social media, I was drawn to the professional branding of the company, then scrolling through the website it was clear that this was much more than just a pet-sitting service. The Cat Butler offers the first-class standard of care that I would want for my own cat, plus reassurance for their owners that their home and pet are in the safest hands. Sandra (franchisor) has built a fantastic business model and I can’t wait to get started!
I’ve been lucky enough to share my life with many gorgeous cats. We currently have a 12-year-old tabby called Lola who we adopted when she was four. She’s the most gorgeous, affectionate girl, and loves to make friends with everyone she meets by rolling at their feet and hoping for a tummy tickle! She’s a bit of a local celebrity, all of our neighbours seem to know her and she can usually be found in the sunniest spot in the garden soaking up the sunshine or snuggled on a comfy blanket.
I’m so excited to get started - I can’t wait to be my own boss and spend my days with (hopefully!) lots of furry clients. What a dream job!
